AN ECHOES THANKSGIVING
Living Room Concerts from William Ackerman and William Eaton
On this Thanksgiving we return to a couple of our favorite autumnal performances. Will Ackerman was the founder of Windham Hill records and a guitarist who popularized the finger-style renaissance. He won his first Grammy in 2004 for the album, Returning and he played music from that disc in our living room, joined by another finger-style player, David Cullen. Will Eaton plays guitar as well, sort of. He's a luthier who has devised his own electro-acoustic hybrids that embody elements of harps, lyres, sitars and instruments yet to be invented. We joined his band in Phoenix, Arizona where they played music from their most recent album, Sparks & Embers. We'll hear these performances and a mix of Autumnal reveries for an Echoes Thanksgiving.
