REINHOLD HEIL & JOHNNY KLIMEK INTERVIEW: RUNNING TOWARD AMBIENCE
Hollywood outsiders redefine the film score
Run Lola Run was one of the most powerful and innovative films of the last decade. Part of the reason was a propulsive soundtrack by Reinhold Heil and Johnny Klimek along with director Tom Tykwer. Since then they've scored films ranging from the dark psychological thriller One Hour Photo to George Romero's zombie flick, Land of the Dead. In their southern California studios, Heil and Klimek talk about thwarting film soundtrack expectations and the difficulty of finding your own voice in Hollywood.

INTERVIEW WITH AURAH: FINDING DESTINY
The duo of Aurah finds meditative designs in cinematic soundscapes
Although they have roots in pop music, including a remix of Enya's Only Time, the duo of Marc Dold and Judith Martin usually ply a more meditative sound. In their Los Angeles studio, Aurah talk about their latest album, Kismet, an evocative journey inspired by Martin's book and drawings of the same name.

Refractions: The Echoes Living Room Concerts Volume 12
We unveil our 12th Living Room Concert CD, Refractions. Refractions is like a compressed, perfectly formed rendition of Echoes drawn from live performances recorded in Living Rooms from London to Seattle. We'll hear deep chamber rock ambiences from Marconi Union and Michael Brook's acclaimed world fusion. Harpist Andreas Vollenweider plays a spontaneous piece that doesn't appear on any of his CDs and Vic Hennegan offers up a Soundscape for Echoes. All that and more are distilled on Refractions: The Echoes Living Room Concerts Volume 12.

A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH TOMMY EMMANUEL
Tommy Emmanuel was our CD of the Month for September. It's called The Mystery and we hear him playing music from that album live on Echoes. Emmanuel is a formidable finger-style guitarist with a devoted legion of fret-pickers, but it's also his infectious melodies and wry wit that draw sell-out audiences to his performances. We'll hear it all when he takes a seat in the Echoes Living Room.
