A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH MOYA BRENNAN Moya Brennan was the voice of Clannad, the Irish band that
paved the way for the new Celtic music of the 1980s and 90s.
Now on her own, Brennan continues with a spiritualized music,
neither Celtic nor New Age, rock nor folk. Earlier this year
she released a new CD called TWO HORIZONS (Universal Music).
Moya Brennan comes into the Echoes Living Room with her band to
play Celtic harp and sing her symphony for the voice. This performance
originally ran on St. Patrick's Day. A selection from this performance,
"Bi Liom" appears on PASSAGES: THE ECHOES LIVING ROOM
CONCERTS VOLUME 10.
Tuesday 11/16/04
PASSAGES: THE ECHOES LIVING ROOM CONCERT VOLUME 10 We unlock the door of our latest collection of Living Room
Concert performances, PASSAGES: THE ECHOES LIVING ROOM CONCERT
VOLUME 10. From spacescapes by Jonn Serrie and the Ministry of
Inside Things, to the ambient Americana of Lanterna, Passages
traverses the Echoes soundscape with wonderful performances, many
of which are exclusive to Echoes. Celtic music is heard with
Moya Brennan and Kila. Ambient designs flow from Air, Jairamji
and Harold Budd. World fusion is re-ignited by Suzanne Teng,
Samite and William Eaton, and the guitar is reinvented by Adrian
Legg, the California Guitar Trio and Ralf Illenberger. Passages:
You may never come back.

LIFE IN BALANCE: SPINNING BOWLS Tibetan singing bowls have been with us for a long time.
Life In Balance is a Pittsburgh-based duo that trades the metal
bowls for quartz crystal bowls and mixes them with flutes and
electronics. Life in Balance are Steve & Ami Sciulli: Steve
handles the flutes and electronics, while Amy uses the bowls you
won't find in any kitchen. Their music ranges from deep meditative
drones to the electronica dance grooves of their latest CD, STAR.
Life in Balance shows us the way.
Friday 11/19/04
MYSTICAL SUN: AMBIENT LIGHT Mystical Sun is the recording moniker of a San Francisco Bay
Area laptop composer and musician who has been quietly articulating
a deeply chilled brand of ambient music, much of which he says
is inspired by the low mountains surrounding his home. His most
recent CD, is a few years old, but he's been leaking out ambient
gems on collections like AMBIENISM VOLUME ONE (Spiralight) and
13TH MOON (Interchill). We head up to Mt. Diablo with Mystical
Sun.
