INTERVIEWS AND CONCERTS FOR THE WEEK
Monday 10/27
A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH DAVID PRITCHARD
Three guitars in spirals
Since the early 1990s, composer/guitarist David Pritchard has been making a minimalist derived, melodically driven music based on multiple guitars playing interlocking, dizzying, maze-like compositions that draw you into their spinning cycles like a fractal web. It's entrancing to hear, difficult to play. We'll listen to David Pritchard with an acoustic guitar trio doing it live when they step into the Echoes living room.

ALEX DE GRASSI ENTERS THE ECHOES CHAMBER
Finger-style wizard untangles the sounds of strings and more
Alex De Grassi was among a handful of guitarists who defined finger-style playing in the 1970s and 80s. We put Alex under the headphones and play him music sight unseen as he identifies contemporaries, influences and musical progeny.
