INTERVIEWS AND CONCERTS FOR THE WEEK
Monday 10/20
A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH ALU
Cosmic cabaret in the Echoes Living Room
Alu exists in a world of psychological symbology and musical playfulness. Based in Los Angeles, her second album, Lobotomy Sessions, contains songs of lost innocence, cultural ennui and interior dialogues, all couched in music that mixes carnivals and cabaret. Alu brings her music to Echoes live, singing about circus cosmos, martian rendezvouses and buzzin' brains. It's a rare and electrifying performance from this entrancing songstress when she plays live, on Echoes.

AN INTERVIEW WITH OZRIC TENTACLES
The Grateful Dead of Space music takes us on a psychedelic trip
Ozric Tentacles grew out of 1980s rave culture in England, but they took their cues from the 70s psychedelic space music of Gong more than the thump of techno. Headed up by Ed Wynne, a classic guitar hero with a spacescape mind, they've released several albums and toured relentlessly since they formed at Stonehenge in 1984. Ed and bassist/synthesist Brandi Wynne take us on a trip through the world of Ozric Tentacles.
