MICKEY HART DRUMS IN TONGUES
Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart talks about a music that speaks in
tongues on his new album, SUPRALINGUA (Rykodisc). A follow-up to his
highly acclaimed "Planet Drum" project, Hart is joined by musicians from
around the world, intoning hybrid vocal chants and pounding out trance
rhythms. Mickey Hart talks about his global percussion orchestra.

HAPPY RHODES'S CYBER PSYCHOLOGY
Singer songwriter Happy Rhodes unfolds the inner dimensions of her latest
album, Many Worlds Are Born Tonight (Samson Music). It's a harrowing
psychological foray that questions existence and computers. It's all cast
in Happy's multi-octave voice, stacked vocal choirs and meticulous
electronic arrangements.

Paul Machlis is American born, but he's a veteran of the New Celtica. In
addition to several solo CDs, he's recorded with Alasdair Fraser, William
Coulter and Mary McLaughlin. His latest album "Green Woods" (Real Music)
explores the moods of Ireland. Paul talks about his Celtic infatuation.

A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH ARMEN CHAKMAKIAN
Armen Chakmakian is a pianist with an ear towards Armenia, where his family
is from. He was a member of the popular world fusion group Shadowfax, and
he brings their same global sensibilities into his debut album,
"Ceremonies" (TruArt). We captered Armen with a pair of percussionists
exploring the evocative themes of his music live, on Echoes.
