ADRIAN LEGG: RIPPED, RIGGED & ROOTS
Adrian Legg is truly a one of a kind guitarist. Possessed of
a formidable finger picking style, his music has roots deep in
English and American folk tradition, especially American banjo
picking. But Legg is no traditionalist. His roots are ripped
from the ground, played on a custom designed electric guitar,
channeled through electronic enhancements and spun through some
of the most gorgeously twisted melodies this side of a swamp vine.
Legg talks about his techniques, which includes his pitch-bending
tuning pegs and his idiosyncratic approach to the guitar.

DAVID BORDEN: THE MOOG OF MOTHER MALLARD'S PORTABLE MASTERPIECE
COMPANY
In the early 1960s, no one was touring and playing Moog synthesizers
live. But David Borden put together a synthesizer trio to perform
his intricate, minimalist inspired contrapuntal designs. They
were called Mother Mallard's Portable Masterpiece Company and
they were swapping patchcords and turning knobs a couple of years
before Tangerine Dream or Kraftwerk got their first synthesizers.
David Borden is still composing, recording and performing live.
We talk to him about the early days of Moog performance and his
latest directions.
