INTERVIEWS AND CONCERTS FOR THE WEEK

Monday 08/27
A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH STARR PARODI
An electric keyboardist unplugs

Starr Parodi cut her chops in the Arsenio Hall Band in the early 1990s and has played fusion keyboards with numerous artists. Now she spends her time with her husband, Jeff Fair, writing film soundtracks and movie trailers. Recently, she turned off her keyboards and sat at a piano for the ruminations of her album, Common Places. Starr Parodi invites us into her Los Angeles home where she plays live.

AN INTERVIEW WITH DAVID HELPLING & JON JENKINS: A MUSICAL TREASURE MAP

David Helpling is a guitarist who usually sounds like a synthesist. Jon Jenkins is a synthesist who often sounds like an ambient orchestra. They both have a couple of solo albums out, but over the last four years they've been formulating a two pronged attack which has been released as Treasure. In David Helping’s southern California Studio, the duo unfold the map of Treasure.
