ECHOES AT THE MOVIES
Echoes goes to the multiplex for another edition of Echoes at the
movies. Hear new soundtracks including Thomas Newman's score to
ERIN BROCKOVICH and Lisa Gerrard and Hans Zimmer's theme for
GLADIATOR. Take a seat in the front row for Echoes at the
Movies.

SKYEDANCE FEATURE
Skyedance is headed-up by Scottish fiddler Alasdair Frasier. On
their new CD "Labyrinth" they create a lush Celtic sound out of
wide-ranging sources. Skyedance talks about their Celtic fusion.

ALAN STIVELL: CELTIC HARP PIONEER
Ask any Celtic harpist, from Loreena McKennitt to Patrick Ball to
Maire Brennan who influenced them and the name Alan Stivell is
sure to arise. His 1971 album, Renaissance of the Celtic Harp
turned a generation on to this neglected instrument. Stivell
himself has been playing it since the early 1950s when he made
his first album. Stivell is still a favorite with his fusion of
traditional Breton folk music and rock arrangements. His latest
album is BACK TO BREIZH (Dreyfus). Stivell takes on a Celtic
harp odyssey.

A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH JEFF PEARCE
Jeff Pearce has been entrancing listeners with his textural,
ambient guitar orchestrations since his debut album, TENDERNESS &
FATALITY (Windchime). Although he often sounds like multiple
guitar players and a synthesizer, Jeff makes all of his music on
one electric guitar in played in real time with no overdubs.
Through a sophisticated system of looping and sound processing,
he transforms himself into an ambient orchestra. Jeff Pearce
comes to the Echoes studio to play music live, including pieces
from his latest album, TO THE SHORES OF HEAVEN (Hypnos).
