A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH OREGON
Oregon stands as one of the most influential instrumental ensembles of our generation. Born in the early 1970's out of the Paul Winter Consort, Oregon has created their detailed brand of chamber improvisation bringing in world music elements and lush lyricism. With guitarist Ralph Towner, bassist Glen Moore, reed player, Paul McCandless and new drummer Mark Walker, each musician can stake claim to the word, virtuoso. Their latest album OREGON IN MOSCOW (Intuition) was nominated for four Grammy awards this year. Oregon comes into the Echoes living room, playing their music live.

Wednesday 06/20/01
AFRO CELT SOUND SYSTEM-FURTHER ALONG
Afro Celt Sound System has single-handedly staked out a turf seeded with African rhythms and chants, Celtic melodies and techno ambiences. With their third album, they push the limits of the Afro Celt sound, adding singers Peter Gabriel and Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) to their mix. Principal members Simon Emmerson, James McNally, and Martin Russell talk about a concept in transition on their new album, FURTHER IN TIME (Realworld).

A ECHOES SUMMER SOLSTICE
We celebrate the Summer Solstice with a soundscape of music to welcome the sun.

CROWN INVISIBLE-ELECTRONIC ALCHEMY
Garrett Parks is a man of many faces. He records mysterious, simply packaged EPs under different guises including Crown Invisible, CC: Dome and Giovanni Fibilini. And much of his atmospheric, haunting electronica is drawn from just a few musical fragments that he reshapes with each piece. He's also a fierce boogie woogie pianist and comes from an acting family that stars on stage and screen. With a new Crown Invisible album, we re- visit our trip to Garrett Parks's Los Angeles studio where he peels back the intangible layers of Crown Invisible.
