MUSIC FROM A TIBETAN PLATEAU
On the next Echoes John Diliberto takes you to the Tibetan
Plateau. The spirituality and landscapes of Tibet have inspired
musicians from around the world. We'll hear compositions drawn
from those inspirations as well as music from Tibetan nuns and
monks.

HECTOR ZAZOU: CELTIC LAMENTS
Hector Zazou is a willful eclectic, mixing with traditional
artists and classical players, rockers and jazzers, poets and
actors. His albums "Songs From The Cold Seas" and Sahara Blue
were both moody and ecstatic albums that were more the work of an
auteur than a composer. Last year, Zazou turned his eyes towards
Ireland and came up with an album of chamber laments called
"Lights In The Dark". Featuring singers Breda Mayock, Katie
McMahon and Lasairfhiona Ni Chonaola, Zazou casts their Sean Nos
singing in exotic, chamber music frames. Hector Zazou and Breda
Mayock talk about their Celtic Laments.

WENDY LUCK: INSIDE THE GREAT PYRAMID
Wendy Luck took her flute, and in the spirit of Paul Horn who
went before her, played it in the Kings Chamber of the great
Pyramid of Cheops. We traveled to the more modest spaces of
Wendy's Manhattan apartment where she relived her meeting with
Egyptian Spirits on her album, The Ancient Key.
