ECHOES RE-MIXED We hear music transformed on Echoes Re-mixed. From Sami singers
to minimalist composers music is sliced, diced, fractured and
reconstituted in new ways. Echoes explores the art of the re-mix
with original music including Madredeus, Steve Reich, and Gigi,
and re-calibrations by Bill Laswell, Coldcut, Aphex Twin and more.
Wednesday 04/02/03
AURAH'S AURAL ALCHEMY Aurah is Swiss musicians Marc Dold and Judith Martin. You've
heard them both separately as session musicians and re-mix artists.
Dold's re-mix team, S.A.F, created the hit version of Enya's
"Only Time." As Aurah, Dold and Martin traffic in an
electronica brand of ethereal world fusion whose themes are inspired
by Paulo Coelho's mystic novel, "The Alchemist." They
blend Middle Eastern and flamenco touches with electronica grooves
and Martin's breathy vocals. Aurah talk about their music and
inspiration.

A PSYCHEDLIC ECHOES We turn on, tune in and trip out on the sound of the psychedelic
sixties. We break out the lava lamp and trip through a pastoral
brand of psychedelic music including the sounds of Pink Floyd,
Spirit, and The Jefferson Airplane. We'll also hear some of
their psychedelic heirs including Sigur Ros and The Future Sound
of London It's part of a hallucinatory flashback on a Psychedelic
Echoes.
