INTERVIEWS AND CONCERTS FOR THE WEEK
Monday 03/23
AN INTERVIEW WITH STEVE ROACH & ERIK WOLLO
Arctic ambiences meet desert dreams
Steve Roach and Erik Wollo are contemporaries from opposite sides of the world and opposite ends of the thermometer. But after three decades of mutual admiration, they got together to collaborate on an expansive CD that took both musicians out of their comfort zones and into new terrain. We connect these artists over transcontinental space to hear their Stream of Thought.

A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH FORASTIERE
Virtuoso guitar from Italy
Pino Forastiere is a guitarist with frightening technique, but an Italian's taste for nuance and emotion. He combines the tapping techniques of Michael Hedges with expansive compositions. He brings it all together on several albums including his new CD & DVD, Live. We'll hear him do it live on Echoes.

COVER TUNES & ROCK REFUGEES
Echoes rocks
Some musicians burn out on the rock scene and disappear while others take their music into new directions. We'll be hearing a bass player for Alice Cooper, a keyboardist from The Cure and covers of tunes by Prince, Seal and a classic rock staple. It's cover tunes and rock refugees on Echoes.

ECHOES REMIXED
It's Echoes in digital variations
On the next Echoes, things might sound familiar, but not quite as Echoes gets remixed. Bombay Dub Orchestra interprets Banco de Gaia, Thievery Corporation updates the Tijuana Brass and Ulrich Schnauss gets digitally reshuffled as we hear alternate takes on familiar tunes. Familiar, at least, if you listen to Echoes.
