ECHOES MARCH CD OF THE MONTH
BOMBAY DUB ORCHESTRA
India, electronica and orchestra meet in a virtual east-west symphony
The Bombay Dub Orchestra (Six Degrees Records) isn't a Reggae group or a Bollywood band, but an exotic east-west journey that defies expectations. Working with a 28-piece Bombay string section and Indian classical musicians from Bombay and London, Garry Hughes and Andrew T. MacKay have composed a seamless mesh of electronic and acoustic orchestrations that results in a dreamy global symphony. It's our CD of the Month for March.

RICHARD BONE: THE UNITED STATES OF ELECTRO-LOUNGE
A child of psychedelia delves into the hallucinations of electro-lounge music
Richard Bone has a deeper music history than most ambient and electro-lounge artists. He grew up in the 1960s, ingesting psychedelic groups like The United States of America. In the 1980s he became a new wave artist, but by the 90s, he'd discovered jazz and bossa nova and began incorporating them into a personal electronic sound. His latest album, SAIYUJI (Quirkworks), continues his explorations into ethno-electro-exotica. In his Rhode Island home, Richard Bone talks about his electronic awakening and the music he creates.

A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH PEPPINO D'AGOSTINO & STEF BURNS
Dueling acoustic and electric guitars on an Ennio Morricone spaghetti western plain
It's a half hour of intricate and atmospheric interplay for acoustic and electric guitars when we hear Peppino D'Agostino and Stef Burns playing live. D'Agostino is the Italian born virtuoso who has released several albums of brilliant solo finger-style guitar over the last 25 years. Stef Burns is best known for slamming an electric guitar with people like Alice Cooper and Huey Lewis. But these guitarists are next-door neighbors in the San Francisco Bay Area and they crossed the fence last year to find common ground on CD called BAYSHORE ROAD (Favored Nations). They come into the Echoes living room with a quartet to play their music live, including an unreleased Ennio Morricone medley.
