Roger Eno & Kate St. John: The Return of the Familiar (originally aired May 1993)
Roger Eno creates chamber music for the post modern world, a sound that resonates with a nostalgic warmth but a modern sense of space. Back in 1993 he teamed up with Kate St. John, the oboist and singer with an arty rock band called the Dream Academy. Together they created a modern chamber music on the album, The Familiar. That CD has been out of print for years, but it's just been re-released in the US. We return to our interview with Roger Eno and Kate St. John to hear them talk about The Familiar, again

Electric chamber music for the 21st Century Live
Minimalism and ambience, The Velvet Underground and Arvo Part converge in this New York City band that is creating an electric ambient chamber music. The debut album by Slow Six, PRIVATE TIMES IN PUBLIC PLACES was called the Classical CD of the Year by Time Out Magazine. Only this classical group plays electric guitars, electric keyboards and electric strings. They play all new music from their forthcoming CD, live in the Echoes Living Room.
