Every year, American acoustic guitarist Brian Gore gathers three other players together to tour the country and trade music and licks. This year’s group consists of Gore, finger-style icon Pierre Bensusan from France, Cecilia Zabala from Argentina and Ben Verdery from New York. They converge in the Echoes living room for solos, duos and quartets

One of the giants of progressive rock, Japanese composer Stomu Yamash'ta. In the 1970s, Yamash'ta played with Stevie Winwood, Al Di Meola and Klaus Schulze. Many of his seminal albums have just been reissued. We travel back to Taidokoju Temple for a meditation with Stomu Yamash'ta.

AN INTERVIEW WITH DEAN DE BENEDICTIS
An electronic savant sings
A lot of instrumental players decide they want to be singers, but usually, that means they start writing songs with words. Dean De Benedictis, who has recorded several electronic albums under his own name and as Surface 10, has gone another way. He's using his voice to make electronic music. On his album, A Cambient Variations, all the sounds come from his voice, but he layers, loops and processes that voice into an ambient dreamscape. Dean De Benedictis opens his mouth and talks about singing.

We'll hear new music from two rock refugees. Roger O'Donnell plays keyboards with The Cure, but he has a new CD of retro-electronics called Stories from a Silver Box. We'll also hear new instrumental music from Police guitarist Andy Summers.
