CD OF THE MONTH
ERIK WOLLO: ELEVATIONS
Erik Wollo returns in these winter months with a slice of chilled Nordic euphoria. The Norwegian guitarist and synthesist has sculpted a tone poem of celestial evocations as could only be inspired by the night skies in the land of the midnight sun. Wollo is among the most melodic of ambient artists and his lyricism unfolds on Elevations. It’s our CD of the Month for February.

CURIUM: E.E. CUMMINGS FRIED IN A HARD DRIVE
A POET GETS DIGITIZED
E.E. Cummings was a poet in word and form, sculpting his verse in graphic designs and synthesist Evan Sorenstein has plugged into this. Under his recording guise as Curium he's made a beguiling recording, setting charming readings of Cummings poetry, read by a 3-year-old girl, an 80-something grandmother and everyone in between. Processed, stretched and distorted, he's set their words in a subtle ambient soundscape on the album Nowever. Curium talks about a poetry and music disc that transcends the form.

A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH STEPHEN BENNETT
Multi-Guitar Wizard Plays Live
Stephen Bennett steps into the Echoes Living Room with his three guitars: 6-string, National Steel and the harp-guitar, to play a concert of original music. Bennett is best known for his work on the antique and exotic harp-guitar but he can play a mean slide on National Steel and pluck with the best of them on 6-string. He plays music from across his career in the Echoes Living Room.
