A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH NIGEL SHAW Join us in the 800 year old farmhouse of Nigel Shaw and his
wife, Carolyn Hillyer when they take us back in time to the ancient
music of the Northernlands. Shaw's latest album is Ancestors (Seventh
Wave) on which he adapts recordings of northern native tribes
like the Sami and builds his own compositions around them. Accompanied
by these old, and often long dead voices singing ancient songs,
Nigel and Carolyn play live with Nigel on Native flute and Carolyn
singing and playing percussion.

ECHOES FEBRUARY CD OF THE MONTH
MOYA BRENNAN: TWO HORIZONS Moya Brennan has changed the spelling of her first name, (formerly
Maire), but there's no mistaking the voice of Clannad, the pioneering
Irish band. Two Horizons is her latest solo album and it's a symphony
of the voice as Brennan articulates a tale of spiritual journey
mixed with Irish mythology centered around the harp, the instrument
she's played since she was a child. We're featuring it as Echoes
February CD of the Month.

ROGER ENO: RURAL ENGLISH AMBIENCE In a quaint countryside village northeast of London, composer
Roger Eno concocts a music full of English quirkiness, playful
whimsy and subtle joy. In his attic studio called the Clerestory,
Roger Eno talks about music for neglected English composers who
don't exist, 20th century German composers who did exist, and
a musical aesthetic that embraces trumpets and harmoniums, Renaissance
music and barroom songs.
Friday 02/13/04
ECHOES OF THE HEART Echoes celebrates St. Valentine's Day with a sensual soundscape
of atmospheric moods and poetic murmurs. We'll hear evocations
of love from the country that brought us the Kama Sutra, some
deep ambient trances of the heart and new moods by Conjure One,
Patrick O'Hearn and more.
