the floor of the Echoes living room for a live performance of
yoga inspired music. Benjy Wertheimer was a founding member of
the world fusion band, Ancient Future and is a master of the tabla
drums and esraj, an Indian violin. Michael Mandrell is a sensitive
finger-style guitarist who's music was recently used on the soundtrack
to the award winning documentary, STONE READER. They come into

ROBERT FOX'S ELECTRONIC THEATRE Robert Fox is a veteran English synthesist who started as
a drama teacher making music as soundtracks to plays he was directing
in Wales. Fox is still teaching and directing, but he also releases
dense, orchestral electronic albums on his own and as a member
of Code Indigo. His latest work, UNDERWORLD, comes from a production
of Faust. We talked to Fox in England about his unconventional
career and predilection for electric space epics.

A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH BURNING SKY In Arizona, the Native American group, Burning Sky light up
the Echoes Living Room when they play live. Performing music from
their latest CD, A SIMPLE MAN, this trio of Native flute, acoustic
guitar and bass weave a sound born of the Arizona desert where
they live and the reservations where they grew up. Burning Sky
play their haunting melodies and talk about the origins of their
sound.
Friday 1/23/04
STEVE ROACH: MYSTIC CHORDS AND SACRED SEQUENCERS Steve Roach cut his teeth making sequencer-driven music full
of cycling note patterns and symmetrical design. It's been about
13 years since he abandoned that sound, but recently he's begun
exploring that process again, wedding it to his techno-tribal
and drone zone explorations. In Steve Roach's Tucson studio, he
plugs in to reveal some of his latest excursions including, Life
Sequences and Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces.
