VIDNA OBMANA-FUJARA ILLUSIONS
Vidna Obmana is Belgian ambient composer Dirk Serries. A disciple of Steve Roach, Vidna Obmana works his own techno-tribal designs mixing synthesizers with organic instruments including the Eastern European fujara flute. Vidna Obmana comes by to play his flute and talk about his music, including his latest CD THE SURREAL SANCTUARY (Hypnos).

ERI SUGAI-JAPANESE ENYA
Eri Sugai is a Japanese singer whose voice is layered in ecstatic choirs on her album, MAI (Pacific Moon). Like Enya, Sugai has a lush, highly lyrical sound and a voice that seems to float above the clouds. In Tokyo, we talk with Sugai about some of her unusual vocal techniques.

MAKYO-ZEN SYNTHESIST
He lives in Tokyo and has a vaguely Asian name, but Makyo is an American musician working a highly cultivated brand of ethno-techno music. He records under the names Makyo and Padmassana and when he isn't in his closet of an apartment melting the walls making exotic albums like SHRINGARA (Dakini) , you might find him DJing a rave at the foot of Mount Fuji. We squeezed into Makyo's studio, where he revealed the influences and confluences of his global electronic soundscapes.
