AN ECHOES THANKSGIVING
WITH
LIVING ROOM CONCERTS FROM David Cullen &
Jill Haley and Nicholas Gunn
We make room at the Echoes Thanksgiving table for guitarist
David Cullen and oboist Jill Haley. Hailing from
Reading, PA, David's composition "On the Way" was the
very first track onWindham Hill Records' very first Guitar Sampler
recording. Among his solo albums is BLUE INDIGO (Solid Air). He
also appears on Windham Hill's 25 YEARS OF GUITAR collection.
Jill Haley has also recorded on Windham Hill records with label
founder and guitarist Will Ackerman. She's best known as a charter
member of the Philadelphia-area acoustic fusion trio, One Alternative.
Jill and David are husband and wife with extensive recording careers
between them, but they hadn't recorded together until this year
with their CD, EXPLODING COLORS (Solid Air).
Nicholas Gunn is an acclaimed flute player, noted for
his musical tone poems to national landmarks including the Grand
Canyon, the Rocky Mountains and the Smoky Mountains. That leads
to albums with titles like AFTERNOON IN SEDONA, THE GREAT SOUTH
WEST, and THROUGH THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS (Gemini Sun). Gunn
mixes his flute with exotic hand percussion and synthesizers in
dramatic odes to the wonders of nature.
