Echo Season

If a song or an album has Echo in the title, it has to be played on Echoes. So if an artist records as Echo Season, well, that’s a slam dunk. Echo Season the recording persona of Peter Brefini, who despite his European sound is from the Boston area. We’ll hear music from his third album of deep electronics called Residual Signals. The signal is strong with John Diliberto on Echoes from PRX.

Monday, Apr 6, 2026 – Echoes Program 2614A

NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen, are circling the moon on the Artemis II rocket, heading to the dark side tonight. It’s been 50 years since humans have been up there. NASA usually feeds the astronauts music like Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me To the Moon,” Elton John’s “Rocket Man” and lots of country music. All good stuff, but we’ve got a different sound, music you’d want to hear while watching the stars, looking at planet Earth from a distance of nearly 239,000 miles, and contemplating humanity’s place in the universe. John Diliberto is your Flight Director at Mission Control tonight, with a soundtrack that includes Jean-Michel Jarre, Beach House, Transponder, STS9, Poppy Ackroyd, Jefferson Starship and more. Take your protein pills and put your helmet on for a journey to the Moon from PRX.

Echoes Online Subscribers can hear an extended, four-hour, non-narrated Journey to the Moon Stream.
