Khruangbin’s Psychedelic Home Video

Khruangbin's Video for Psychedelic Funk "Cómo Me Quieres"

We had Khruangbin on the show a few weeks ago playing live and tonight we have an interview with them on Echoes. Coincidentally, they also just dropped a new video for one of the songs we’ve been playing from their latest album, “Cómo Me Quieres”.  The Texas-based band started making waves in 2014 with their debut single “A Calf Born in Winter”. Since then the trio has been releasing music with a funky, psychedelic sound influenced by Thai pop, Middle-Eastern funk, and Asian rock. Their new album Con Todo El Mundowas released in January of 2018.

The first track on the album, titled “Cómo Me Quieres” , translates to “How Do You Love Me”, and the video takes viewers on a journey around the world over the course of one day as a tribute to bassist Laura Lee’s grandfather. Featuring a vintage, double exposed film style, the video gives a nostalgic home-movie feeling coupled with a sound influenced by Middle-Eastern, specifically Iranian, funk and soul.

Khruangbin is currently on tour in Europe, and their album Con Todo El Mundo is available to stream or purchase. Catch their interview tonight May 29th, 2018 on Echoes.
