  1. Isaac Asimov? “2001: A Space Odyssey” was based upon a short story by Arthur C. Clarke called “The Sentinel”.
    ACC also wrote the screenplay with Kubrick. It was ACC’s 100th anniversary last December. There was an
    exhibition in his home town of Minehead, and a plaque featuring a monolith in its background was unveiled at
    his school.
