Indie Folk Singer Mirah Plays Live on Echoes
Like Beyonce and Cher, Mirah just uses her first name, but she doesn’t sound like them. Originally from Philadelphia, Mirah has moved around the country, eventually landing in Brooklyn like everyone else. She’s been on the alternative scene for many years, coming out of the indie folk tradition. Her first album came out at the turn of the century, with a great title: You Think It’s Like This But Really It’s Like This. She’s released several recordings since then, along with many collaborations. Last year she put out a great EP called Sundial, on which she performed some of her earlier material, with string arrangements by Jherek Bishoff. She comes in to play music live on Echoes.
