2001: A Spacey Odyssey 50th Anniversary Spacescape on Echoes.

Today we’ve got our spaceship ready to launch into the unknown as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Stanley Kubrick’s classic film, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Based on a story by author Arthur C Clarke, 2001 has thrilled and perplexed viewers since it was released in 1968. Imagine a space epic with no shots fired, a sci-fi film for the mind. Kubrick used classical music from romantics to the avant-garde for his score, but today, I have a 21st century take on it with music by Tangerine Dream, Key-G, Eat Static, London Grammar, Sufjan Stevens and more.  Set the controls for the spaceways on Echoes.

Asimov had NOTHING to do with 2001 – it is Arthur C. Clark’s story.

    Arthur C Clarke, not Asimov!

Damn you are so right. I was looking at so much Sci-Fi material for the show that I mixed them up.
