We Remember Michael Hedges
We celebrate two guitar geniuses this week, both with lives cut short. On Monday, we remembered Jimi Hendrix on his 75th birthday. Today we remember Michael Hedges on the 20th anniversary of his passing. There isn’t a single acoustic guitar player you hear on Echoes who wasn’t influenced by Hedges’ two-handed tapping techniques, aggressive approach, and wild musical imagination. Kaki King, Don Ross, Preston Reed, Andy McKee and so many more, took a lot from Hedges’ work. We were fortunate to have Hedges appear on the show five times with two live performances in my living room and three interviews. We’ll hear those interviews and Michael’s music.
