The ambient chamber music ensemble Bing & Ruth comes in to play their haunting, slow flowing music live. There isn’t anyone named Bing & Ruth in the band called Bing & Ruth, but their name is as mysterious as their sound. Headed up by pianist David Moore they mix reed instruments, double double basses, cello and delay electronics in a haunting, hypnotic ambient chamber music sound born from composed improvisation. Last year they released their album, Tomorrow Was the Golden Age, a title that is as enigmatic as their music which is a child of Brian Eno, minimalism, Arvo Part and ambient jazz. They play live on Echoes.
