Interview: Bing & Ruth.
There isn’t anyone named Bing or Ruth in the band called Bing & Ruth, and their sound is as mysterious as their name. Headed up by pianist David Moore they mix reed instruments, double double-basses, cello and delay electronics in a haunting, hypnotic ambient chamber music sound born from composed improvisation. Last year they released their album, Tomorrow Was the Golden Age, a title that is as enigmatic as their music, which is a child of Brian Eno, minimalism, Arvo Part and ambient jazz. They talk about their unusual and contemplative path.
