Weekend, April 25 & 26, 2015- Echoes Program 1516A

Concert: Robert Rich

Robert Rich is from the first generation of California synthesists to be influenced by German space music and Minimalism. Robert has moved far afield from that, creating one of the most distinctive sounds in modern music. In Rich’s world, tribal grooves, space synthesizers, glissando lap steel guitar and wood flutes create an exotic sonic world that draws from the breadth of global and electronic music, creating a sound that is as sensual as it is cerebral. His latest album is Filaments. Robert Rich comes in with his stacks of synthesizers, lap steel and flutes and plays live.
