The Last Flying Teapot to Planet Gong: Echoes Remembers Daevid Allen R.I.P.

On the next Echoes, we remember Daevid Allen. The founding member of the Soft Machine and Gong. Allen created a mythology about the Planet Gong that brought to his music and life with whimsical philosophies and space rock explorations. His band Gong released their first album in 1969, and carried on through nearly 50 years in different incarnations.  Allen left the planet on March 13 at 77. We revisit an interview with this pioneering and idiosyncratic artist and hear some of his music in this special edition of Echoes.
