Yoed Nir is an Israeli born cellist steeped in classical music. He took a left turn into rock, playing with Regina Spector, then took a another dramatic turn, creating an ambient chamber music of cello orchestrations. On his latest CD, The Next Dream, he layers his cello in looping designs and electronic processes, making a fantasy chamber music that’s part symphony and part Hendrix. He talks about his journey from the Israeli Army Orchestra to ambient orchestras in the Echoes Podcast.
