Gary Numan Splinters – zerO One Codes on Echoes

splinterOn Echoes today, new music from Gary Numan.  While everyone was looking the other way, the creator of “Cars,” one of the signature songs of the 80’s New Wave, (and the whipping boy for everyone who hated that music) has forged a new identity merging metal and electronics into songs that are by turns aggressive and anguished.   We had a great two-part interview with him in 2012 and after seeing him live at the Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit this year, it’s clear that Gary Numan has been born again, and definitely not in the christian sense. We’ll hear a heartbreaking ballad from his new album, Splinter: Songs from a Broken Mind.

SonarWe’ll also hear new music from zerO One who finally codes a new CD after six years.   sOnar continues his move toward  heavier, dub-step influenced glitch infused sound.  zerO One is Kevin Dooley, and judging from the pictures on his website hes jettisoned a lot of the analog and custom designed gear he used on his early albums like protOtype2.  Hear it tonight on Echoes.
