LIVING ROOM CONCERTS FOR CHRISTMAS
WITH
MOYA BRENNAN STEPHEN BENNETT   ERIK WOLLO
PETER JANSON

Sonic Seasonings is a special two-hour radio program of live performances that orchestrate a winter landscape. Each year, we visit musicians' living rooms around the country. We move around the furniture, turn off the fridge and pull out the phones as musicians play seasonal sounds, live and intimate.

For each performance, host John Diliberto pulls up a chair with the musicians, drawing out revealing tales and Christmas memories to enhance the intimate concert setting. This year’s Sonic Seasonings takes us through a winter landscape drawn from Norwegian fiords and mountains, Irish dells and North Eastern mountainsides. It's not just carols, but original music evoking the time stopping silences and chilled landscapes of the season.

Erik Wollo

Norway is the mythic land of Christmas and a time when sunlight is barely an apparition. From this twilight realm, Erik Wollo constructs winter landscapes using looping guitar melodies and synthesizer textures.

Stephen Bennett

Stephen Bennett is a monster of finger-style guitar, but he also is a master of the harp guitar, a guitar with 6 additional bass strings plucked like a harp. Stephen brings us an acoustic Christmas evocation from Virginia.
