MARCELO ZARVOS-BRAZILIAN CHAMBER FUSION
Marcelo Zarvos's is a gifted and deftly melodic pianist from
Brazil who is working out his own chamber world fusion music,
inspired by ECM artists like Oregon and Keith Jarrett. On his
album, Labyrinths (M-A Music), Zarvos evokes the serpentine dream
logic of writer Jorge Luis Borges, whose writings inspired the
album. Zarvos unfolds the logic of his own music in this Echoes
interview.

AN ECHOES WINTER SOLSTICE
Echoes greets the longest night of the year with a Winter's
Solstice Celebration. With not a carol in earshot, we paint a
winter's landscape in sound, pristine and serene. Includes music
from the new Windham Hill "Winter Solstice on Ice" CD.

SUZANNE TENG'S MAGIC WORLD FLUTE
Suzanne Teng was a member of the Angels of Venice, but now she's
out on her own with her debut CD, "Mystic Journey." Suzanne's
music is born of global rhythms, sensual melodies and the
movement of dance. She talks about the ingredients of her world
music brew.

CHRISTMAS ECHOES
The perfect music for digesting that Christmas dinner. We'll hear
evocative and inventive renditions of Christmas favorites from
artists who are staples of Echoes, including R. Carlos Nakai,
Jonn Serrie and music from the Windham Hill seasonal collections.

SONIC SEASONINGS: A LIVING ROOM CONCERT FOR CHRISTMAS
Settle in for your long winter's nap with an enchanting two hour
program of live performances from WINDHAM HILL'S WINTER SOLSTICE
including DAVID ARKENSTONE, LIZ STORY, THE ANGELS OF VENICE, LISA
LYNNE, and SEAN HARKNESS. In this two hour special, sitting in
the Echoes Living Room, they play in multiple combinations, each
one bringing new life into familiar Christmas songs as well as
creating some new ones. Playing guitars, flutes, recorders,
Celtic harps, acoustic piano, global percussion and more, they
decorate the air like a Christmas tree in sound.
