FEATURES FOR THE WEEK

Tuesday 07/29/03
RETURN TO TWANGQUILITY
We'll be hearing country twang in ambient terrain with pedal steel guitars and slide dobros resonating in space. It's new atmospheric music with a decidedly country tinge, including new music from Daniel Lanois [LAN-wah} and Ed Bilous's [BIL-lows] score to FRONTIER HOUSE. It's a Return to Twangquility, from Twangquility Base at Echoes.

Wednesday 07/30/03
JEFF PEARCE LIVING ROOM CONCERT
Jeff Pearce unfolds his layered melodies and deep atmospheres live in the Echoes Living Room. Spinning guitar lines through loops, delays, and echoes, Pearce creates a sonic womb of contemplation.

Friday 08/01/03
SAUL STOKES TINKERS WITH TUNES
Saul Stokes has a new album called Fields (Hypnos) which shows what happens when a technology knob twiddler with an avant-garde sound starts to tinker with tunes. Synthesist and instrument builder Saul Stokes talks about rediscovering melody in the circuitry of his homemade instruments.
