DEBORAH HENSON-CONANT-CELTIC HARP
Deborah Henson-Conant is best known for her jazz harp albums in
the early 1990s, but in recent years, she's taken a turn towards
more Celtic sounds. She has an electric blue electric harp that
she slings around her waist like a guitar, spinning out
improvisations on Celtic themes. Deborah Henson-Conant talks
about her Celtic epiphany on Echoes.

FEATURE: TIM FARRELL-PORTRAIT OF A POST-WINDHAM HILL GUITARIST
Tim Farrell is from the post-Windham hill generation of acoustic
guitarists, those musicians weaned on Will Ackerman, Alex De
Grassi and Michael Hedges. Tim has been finding his own way on
guitar, weaving intricate finger-picking techniques with hammer-
ons, pull-offs and a gift for memorable melodies. Those are heard
on his two self-produced albums, "Very" and "Skydancer." Tim
talks about his guitar travels.

TEN ECHOES ARTISTS FOR A DECADE: ENYA
Few artists have dominated the Echoes landscape like Enya. The
Irish singer brought Gaelic music to it's widest audience ever
while simultaneously carving out a distinctive and often imitated
sound. Enya was one of the first artists featured on Echoes in
1989. We'll look back at this singer's career, from her days
singing with her sisters and cousins in Clannad to her elaborate
multi-layered vocal architecture. Enya is one of Ten Echoes
Artists for a Decade.

ARYEH FRANKFURTER-HARP SONGS FROM THE MIDNIGHT SUN
Aryeh Frankfurter (that's his real name) is a multi-
instrumentalist who might be busking on Celtic harp in San
Francisco's Ghiradelli Square one day and wailing on electric
violin with the rock group Azigza the next. On his album, "Harp
Songs of the Midnight Sun" (Lionharp Music), Aryeh takes the
Celtic harp to Scandinavia, playing traditional melodies from
Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Aryeh talks about this unusual
source of Celtic harp music.
