INTERVIEWS AND CONCERTS FOR THE WEEK

Monday 02/02
ECHOES FEBRUARY CD OF THE MONTH
ERIK SCOTT: OTHER PLANETS
A rocking bassist takes the ambient instrumental path

Bassist Erik Scott has played with Alt-rockers Sonia Dada and shock rocker Alice Cooper. But don't let that scare you away from his album, Other Planets. It's a beautiful instrumental recording with sensuous electric bass leads that show what a bass can sound like when a great melodicist leads the way. Erik Scott's Other Planets is our February CD of the Month.Join the CD Club!

ECHOES OF THE MIDNIGHT SUN

We hear Scandinavian Echoes when we explore the outburst of new music from countries cold and dark. We'll hear Sigur Ros and Jóhann Jóhannsson from Iceland, Solar Fields and Johan Agebjorn from Sweden, Erik Wollo and Martine Lund Hoel from Norway and many more artists whose music seems born of the chilled air and extravagant landscapes of their homes.

R. CARLOS NAKAI IN THE ECHOES CHAMBER
Native American flute master turns his ears to music native and beyond
R. Carlos Nakai
put the Native American flute on the map and he's taken it to places no one could've ever expected, from canyons to concert halls, world fusions to electric excursions. He sits down in the darkness of the Echoes Chamber where host John Diliberto plays him music, including people who may have influenced him, and artists he has influenced. Join R. Carlos Nakai in the Echoes Chamber as he tries to identify music on the wind.
