CHOCK FULL OF CELLOS
Echoes takes a bow to a new brand of cello music, from the electronica
designs of Martin Tillman to the ambient chamber music of Ron
Clearfield. We'll hear Bach Preludes re-invented and cellos
that look that modern art. It's all cellos on Chock Full of Cellos.

MARTIN TILLMAN - ELECTRIC ECLECTIC CELLO
Martin Tillman is the electric cellist of choice in Los Angeles.
He turns up on soundtracks by Mark Isham, is a member of the Persian
fusion group, Axiom of Choice and records romantic chamber works
with Michael Hoppé. We talk with the Swiss born musician
about his eclectic choices, electrifying his instrument and his
first solo album, EASTERN TWIN (Unitone), an electronica chamber
work recorded with Tom Vedvik.

JEFF JOHNSON & BRIAN DUNNING'S ROUTES TO BYZANTIUM
Keyboardist Jeff Johnson and flutist Brian Dunning have released
a string of albums with inspiration drawn from the novels of Stephen
Lawhead and inflections derived form Ireland. Their latest
CD, BYZANTIUM (Ark) follows still another Lawhead novel of the
same name, as Johnson & Dunning provide the soundtrack for
a monk on a journey. We'll follow his route with Jeff Johnson
and Brian Dunning.
