FRITZ HEEDE & JOHN BANKS: ILLUMINATED PSYCHEDELIA
Animated DVDs usually have pedestrian images or derivative, canned music, but Fritz Heede and John Banks' DVD, ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPTS, defies that precedent. The disc is full of surreal, images that morph and flow one into the other creating a world of fantasy and light where doors open into glistening vistas and chairs are swallowed by vines. Fritz Heede's music follows suit with a delirious, eastern-inspired swirl of propulsive hand drum rhythms, ambient moods and melodies that spin like a dervish refracted in time. We create a sonic journey into the surreal world of Illuminated Manuscripts with Fritz Heede and John Banks.
