DONNA DELORY: FROM MADONNA TO MANTRAS
Donna DeLory has been singing professionally since she was 8 years old. She has several solo albums out, although she's best known as a back-up singer for Madonna and has been in the choruses of Madonna songs since the mid 1980s. On her own, DeLory tends towards more mystical fare on CDs like IN THE GLOW and BLISS (Secret Road Records). Her new CD, THE LOVER AND THE BELOVED (Ajna Music) takes her on a Mantric journey, singing chants in sanskrit in elaborately produced arrangements that recall Rasa. In her Los Angeles home, in the midst of rehearsing for Madonna's summer tour, Donna DeLory talks about her mystic music.
