REWIRING PIANOS AND SYNAPSES

Scott Cossu was at the peak of his career in 1989. His album SWITCHBACK was climbing the charts and he was touring across the country as one of Windham Hill Records premiere artists. But then he was struck by a car and everything changed. Cossu plunged into a coma, underwent brain surgery and had to rebuild his life, career and music from the ground up. Cossu recently put out only his third CD since his accident, EMERALD PATHWAY (Alula). We revisit our 1995 feature with Scott where he talks about what it's like to not even recognize your own music.
