March to May- “Fifty Years”

Dream-Folk duo March to May "Fifty Years" Reverie.

The pop-folk duo, March to May, is one of those bands dialing into an emerging, dream-folk sound with influences from English traditional folk and sixties American folk music. You can hear that in  “Fifty Years“, off of their album, Through the Night. It’s a pastoral reverie with chirping birds merging into harp, guitar, and violin that lay down the breezy wistful mood for the song as the couple frolic and sing among the blossom trees. Given its title, it makes sense that the video hangs at the borders of flower power kitsch, Darren Guyaz and Beth Wesche’s sylvan vocals carry their lyrics exploring aspects of time and love.  I do like the surreal-without -effects of vintage windows that  are hung from the trees as the couple innocently pass notes to each other as they stroll through their magical environment.  “Fifty Years” can be heard on March to May’s new album Through the Night via Northbound Records.
